Brooklyn Brewery

Brooklyn Brewery was started in 1987 by former Associated Press correspondent Steve Hindy and former Chemical Bank lending officer Tom Potter.

Originally all their beer was brewed by contract and the pair started their own distribution company and personally transported their beer to bars and retailers around New York City. Later, they acquired a factory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and converted it into a functional brewery.

Brooklyn Lager

Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards, beginning with first place at the Great American Beer Tasting in 1989. A superb balance of sweet malt and crisp bitter hops. Dry hopped for more flavour.

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout

The famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, the award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style. The brewers use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavour through a blend of specially roasted malts. Brewed every year for the winter season, it is delicious when newly bottled but also ages beautifully for years.

Since 1994, Garrett Oliver has been Brooklyn's award winning Brewmaster and is also been a judge at the Great American Beer Festival. Garrett is considered by many to be the foremost authority in the United States on the subject of traditional beer.
